The Lion, Art Frequency on Twitter

"Lion of the Tribe of Judah"

*By Cassandra Donnelly

On Friday, I saw this piece, "Lion of the Tribe of Judah" on Art Frequency. The piece really speaks to me and it really touched my heart. It highlights the gentleness, yet boldness of Jesus. Please check it out on the site! You can also 'like' this piece online. Here is the description:

"This is an acrylic painting which captures the heart of Jesus. Although he comes like a lion, he is peaceful as a dove. He is shown docile and gentle here, but one can never forget the fierceness of the Lion! God will protect and avenge his loved ones, including Jerusalem!" Cassandra Donnelly

Art Ministry Studio

*Artist: MILTON CORONADO

As opportunities arise to meet young artists sprinkled among faces, I hear the same thing over and over. These young people recognize the gift that God has given them and they're on fire for God; but, they are not at the point where they can marry their love for God and their gift of art for His glory.

Many of us learned art in school and often times created secular art work. God revealed that there needs to be some prep work for those of us, who love to do art and would now like to use our art to minister to others.

The 'Art Ministry Studio' is a place on Facebook geared toward completing this prep work:

http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=84959467591

The purpose of the group is to prepare a group of artists committed to beginning or continuing their art ministry. We begin this preparation first with prayer, then honesty and diligence as a constant thread which will yield to growth.

We will encourage each other in this studio setting and will share our artwork on a regular basis as God prepares us to do His work! The image, 'Changed' by Milton Coronado expresses the purpose of this studio, we are moving from the secular use of art to using art to bring more people into the kingdom!
