The Lion, Art Frequency on Twitter

"Lion of the Tribe of Judah"

*By Cassandra Donnelly

On Friday, I saw this piece, "Lion of the Tribe of Judah" on Art Frequency. The piece really speaks to me and it really touched my heart. It highlights the gentleness, yet boldness of Jesus. Please check it out on the site! You can also 'like' this piece online. Here is the description:

"This is an acrylic painting which captures the heart of Jesus. Although he comes like a lion, he is peaceful as a dove. He is shown docile and gentle here, but one can never forget the fierceness of the Lion! God will protect and avenge his loved ones, including Jerusalem!" Cassandra Donnelly

Art Ministry Studio

*Artist: MILTON CORONADO

As opportunities arise to meet young artists sprinkled among faces, I hear the same thing over and over. These young people recognize the gift that God has given them and they're on fire for God; but, they are not at the point where they can marry their love for God and their gift of art for His glory.

Many of us learned art in school and often times created secular art work. God revealed that there needs to be some prep work for those of us, who love to do art and would now like to use our art to minister to others.

The 'Art Ministry Studio' is a place on Facebook geared toward completing this prep work:

http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=84959467591

The purpose of the group is to prepare a group of artists committed to beginning or continuing their art ministry. We begin this preparation first with prayer, then honesty and diligence as a constant thread which will yield to growth.

We will encourage each other in this studio setting and will share our artwork on a regular basis as God prepares us to do His work! The image, 'Changed' by Milton Coronado expresses the purpose of this studio, we are moving from the secular use of art to using art to bring more people into the kingdom!

ASI Conference

"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him." Romans 5:8-9

We did it! Talk about getting it done. Thank you so much for your prayer and generous financial contribution to attend the ASI event!

It was a tremendous and eye-opening experience! I saw the many branches to the tree that God is using to finish the work and to share the message about God's love to the ends of the world. The leaders of ASI have this thing about one person with an idea, which God takes, blesses, and multiplies. The whole time I'm thinking, why didn't I know about this before? I had the opportunity to meet like-minded people determined to bring more souls into the kingdom through innovative companies. This event marks a new direction. God has cracked open a bright opening on a new path. Knowing what He has done in the past, I can't wait to see what else He has in store as we co-labor together.

The theme of the conference was the character of God. The fabric of God's character threaded with mercy, justice, and truth. And when Jesus comes back to get us, His people will have His name on their forehead, they will reflect His character.

Our messages were brought by Steve Wohlberg and Christian Berdahl. Christian's voice sounds like an angel. He was also a dynamic speaker. His powerful story will be posted soon. One can see how God took him out of a life riddled with attack and healed and blessed him. We studied that we must connect first with Jesus. Not start with "do's and don'ts", but rather admit that we NEED Jesus. You can see that God can take any past and transform us into what He meant for us to be.

God has blessed with many divine connections. God blessed with four new board members!
Caron Oswald: VP for Comm., Special Projects, and Volunteering (CCC)
Nelson Ernst: Director of GLOW
Scott Mayer: Little Light Ministries (Battlefield Hollywood)
Milton Coronado: Artist and Pastor (Author of Changed)

Many 'art tracts' were shared personally with the ASI attendees. I also had the opportunity to meet a young artist who is part of the 'Misfits' in the Finish the Work team. Many ministries were represented and it was amazing to hear what God is doing all over the world. One that really stood out for me was the new launch from ASI of the One Day School, they will soon begin building schools in just one day beginning in Zambia this year. I am committing five percent of my art proceeds to this cause. There were so many testimonies! God just needs us to be willing and does He move.

This convention gave another glimpse of God's abundance and goodness. This event was truly a blessing and another leap on the journey to spreading the gospel through art. Let's continue with fervent prayer and action!

Many blessings!
